About West Virginia Wesleyan College

West Virginia Wesleyan College is a regionally accredited private, coeducational, liberal arts college in Buckhannon, which is the only incorporated city in Upshur County, in the US state of West Virginia, also serving as its county seat. According to the 2004 census, Buckhannon has a population of more than 7500 inhabitants.

West Virginia Wesleyan was established in 1890, being founded by the West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist church, and it adopted its current name in June, 1906. The college currently offers its students over 40 majors and programs of study, the primary majors being elementary and secondary education, business, and natural sciences.

Athletics

WV Wesleyan's sports teams call themselves the Bobcats and they compete in NCAA Division II, in 18 sports, for both men and women. Their distinctive colors are orange and black.
